A traditional September conference of the education workers was held on September 6 in Gabala. The conference attendees first visited the National Leader’s monument built in the center of the city and laid flowers at it. Subsequently, the conference commenced in the assembly hall of Gabala city full secondary school No 5. Opening the event, the Head of the Gabala Region Education Department Yashar Nazirov brought to the attention that 68 general education schools, 53 full secondary schools, 12 general secondary schools, and 3 elementary schools were functioning in the reporting year. It was mentioned that 2130 teachers from Gabala region took part in the diagnostic assessment exams held between the educators per 2016-2017 academic year, the two of them collected 60 points as a maximal result. Additionally, 385 of the teachers collected 50 points, while 746 teachers - 40 points, 669 teachers - 30 points, and 268 teachers - more than 20 points. The speaker providing information about the key education indicators of the 2016-2017 academic year, highlighted that the success rate of the results for the end of the last academic year accounted for 99,9% with 64.8% quality indicator. 4719 of 15851 pupils, assessed in terms of their knowledge, with excellent grades, while 5554 pupils with “4” and “5” grades, and the remaining pupils with “3” and “4” grades moved to the upper classes. It was further added that 527 of 850 pupils applied for university admission were honored with a title of student, 57 of whom had collected more than 600 points. Speaking at the conference, Deputy Head– head of department of socio-political and humanitarian issues of the Gabala Region Executive Power Ataya Osmanova, the Representative of the Ministry of Education Ahliyyat Adigozalov and the associate of the Territorial Financial Settlements Center No 4 Araz Babayev highlighted the successful results of the education reforms recently carried out in our country and duties of the pedagogical community. The speakers regarded the achievements of high performance as a result of the activities executed in terms of the improvement in the quality of education. They expressed their gratitude to the pupils and teachers who had contributed to gaining such achievements. The results of the last academic year were analyzed, and the upcoming issues and the activities to be executed over the following academic year were discussed. Afterwards, some teachers and pupils were awarded with honorary certificate and bestowed with valuable presents. At the end of the conference, the content of the appeal addressed to President Ilham Aliyev on behalf of the conference participants was read.
