The Armed Forces Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan was celebrated with the organizational support of the Trade Union of the MES Employees

On the occasion of June 26 - Armed Forces Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan, an event was held in Military Unit B of the Civil Defense Troops of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in Gabala region, with the organizational support of the Trade Union of the MES Employees on June 23.

Chairperson of the Republican Council of Elders, MP Fattah Heydarov, Head of Gabala Region Executive Power Sabuhi Abdullayev, Chairperson of the Trade Union of the MES Employees Mehman Ismayilov, Deputy Commander of Civil Defense Forces of the Ministry of Emergency Situations –and Chief of Staff,Colonel Etibar Ismayilov, the Directorate of the Military Unit, officers and soldiers took part in the event,
The ceremony began with the performance of the National Anthem.
Opening the event with introductory remarks, Chairperson of the Trade Union of the MES Employees Mehman Ismayilov said that according to the Decree dated 22 May, 1988 of the national leader Heydar Aliyev, June 26 was announced  the Armed Forces Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan. He mentioned that today in our country development of army is successfully continuing under the leadership of the President and Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev.

Mehman Ismayilov spoke extensively on the role of the Civil Defense Troops in our armed forces, and noted that it has a robust material and technical base with modern technologies.
Then Chairperson of the Republican Council of Elders, MP Fattah Heydarov made a speech and extensively spoke about army building’s process in Azerbaijan, historical merits of the national leader Heydar Aliyev in this area, and role of the Civil Defense Troops in the  army system of Azerbaijan Republic. He highlighted that Azerbaijan was experiencing its hard times during the first years of independence; therefore the country was about to collapse. It was Heydar Aliyev, who returned to power with the insistence of the people, developed Azerbaijan into a prosperous and independent country having a voice among the world countries. Thanks to him, our army was reconstructed and strengthened its place among the most powerful armies of the world. Worthy successor of our National Leader, His Excellency Mr. President and Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev successfully continues this policy. The spokesman emphasized that we have such a strong army which is able to throw the enemy off our lands whenever required.

Participating in the event, Head of Gabala Region Executive Power Sabuhi Abdullayev congratulated the personnel on the occasion of the Azerbaijan’s national holiday and wished them success on their honorable duties.

Deputy Commander of Civil Defense Forces of the Ministry of Emergency Situations –and Chief of Staff, Colonel Etibar Ismayilov, also congratulated military officers and soldiers on the occasion of 26 June – Armed Forces Day.
At the end, a group of distinguished military officers over the service were awarded with valuable presents.
