Gabala region became the next point of the water journey of the IV Islamic solidarity games "Baku-2017" started from the Caspian Sea.

In Gabala, a water journey started with taking water  from Nohur lake. Nohur lake, located at an altitude of 700 meters above sea level, is surrounded by dense forests and mountains. The depth of the lake is 24 meters, the length - 1925 meters, the width - 1355 meters, the area - 240 hectares, the water volume - 16 million cubic meters. The Demiraparan and Vandam rivers flow into this lake. The winner of the international taekwondo tournaments Khayal Azizov, the gold medal winner of the World Boxing Championship Javid Chalabiyev, the 5th grade student of full secondary school No. 1 Shafiga Bayramzade, taking a great interest in drawing and dancing, filled a vessel of "Baku-2017" with water from Nohur lake and went to a water festival in Heydar Aliyev Park in Gabala city. This vessel with water will be demonstrated on May 12 at the opening ceremony of "Baku-2017". The "Water Journey started from the Caspian Sea" was continued by a water festival organized in the evening in Heydar Aliyev Park in Gabala city. At the event, the audience was shown the footage about the vessel with Caspian Sea water being handed over by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to the inhabitants of Gabala on April 5 at the opening ceremony. The region residents enjoyed the performance of the "Mirvari" dance group, the Gabala "Zopu-zopu" ethnographic folklore dance ensemble, musician Najmaddin Aliyev, the grandiose water effect and fireworks. The water festival, accompanied by an interesting concert program, ended with fireworks.
