The winners declared on the 5 disciplines of rifle and trap shooting for Junior World Cup in Gabala.

The competitions for Junior World Cup on shooting disciplines started in the trap shooting and archery complex in Bum village of Gabala region on September 18. 281 athletes (young women and men under 21) from 27 countries participate in the competitions held with the organizational support of "Gabala" Shooting Club and Azerbaijan Shooting Federation, with the support of the National Olympic Committee, Ministry of Youth and Sport. There are world and European Champions, and also “Rio-2016” Olympic medal winners among them. The competitions are held on the trap and rifle shooting at the indoor and outdoor sport complexes. On the first day of competition, the winners of the competitions were declared on 5 disciplines of rifle and trap shooting, including 50 m rifle shooting among women and men, 25 m pistol shooting among men, skeet among women and double trap among men. In the competition on rifle-prone shooting with small caliber handgun at 50 meters among men the Indian athlete Subhankar Pramanik took the first place, Czech participant Philip Nepeshal took the second place, Romanian shooter Dragomi Iordache took the third place. In the overall scoring of this competition, Norwegian and Indian teams ranked in the 1 and 2 places, respectively. In the competition on rifle-prone shooting with small caliber handgun at 50 meters among women, Violetta Starostina (Kazakhstan) took the first place, Anastasia Galashina (Russia) took the second place, and Jenny Stene (Norway) took the third place. In the overall scoring of this competition, Norwegian, Russian and Indian teams ranked in the first three places, respectively. In the shooting competition of small caliber handgun at 25 meters among men Indian participant Sambhaji Zanzan took the first place, Austrian shooters Sergey Evglevski and James Tomas Asmore took the second and third places, respectively. In the skeet shooting, Alina Fazlyanova (Russia) took the first place, Anni Zhao (China) second place, Izel Aydin (Turkey) third place. In the overall scoring of this competition, teams of Turkey, China and Russia ranked in the first three places. In the double trap among men, Chinese athlete Ying Gi took the first place, Russian shooter Alexander Filippov took the second place, and Chinese athlete Run Su took the third place. In the overall scoring of this competition, teams of China, Russia and India, ranked in the first three places, respectively. For the total number of medals, Indian team took the first place with 7 medals, Chinese athletes took the second place with 5 medals, and Norway participants took the third place with 3 medals. After the competitions, the awards ceremony was held to reward the athletes and teams for the top three places. Note, that our country is represented by 25 athletes in the competition for Junior World Cup on the Olympic shooting disciplines, including 11 athletes demonstrating the ability to compete in shooting trap, and 14 athletes in rifle-shooting. The contests will end on September 23.
