Torch light of European games was lit in Gabala.

For 31 days now, the attention of Azerbaijan and the world sports communities drawn to the launch phase of the European Games. On April 26 torch, lit in the "Ateshgah" temple in Baku, capital of Azerbaijan, that already passed in 46 regions of the republic, the path of 4 thousand kilometers, reached the city of Gabala, standing out for its rapid socio-economic development and becoming one of the world's cultural centers. Torch light, met by the lively crowd, has created a very exciting time for all Gabala people and Gabala sports lovers.
From the southern entrance of the city to the park named after the national leader, along the road length of which is about three thousand meters thousands of Gabala people gathered on both sides, holding the tricolor national flags and other symbols of I European Games. This majestic crowd was joined by the elders, youth, students who came from all the villages, in a word all Gabala people. Their goal was to participate to the torchlight procession, which is part of I European Games, and most importantly join the joy of this great sporting event, to experience the excitement of the historic events taking place in Gabala. The sound of music, the triumph resounded throughout the region. To the applause of the crowd, like a rolling sea, the torch arrived in Gabala and was handed over to local athlete Anar Mustafayev. Athletes on a pre-established route, passing the torch to each other, went to the park named after Heydar Aliyev.
Runners carrying the torch light passed through the festively decorated Heydar Aliyev Avenue, the streets of Samad Vurgun and Ismail Bey, came to Heydar Aliyev Park. The last runner carrying the torch, Ehsan Nazirov under the applause of the people gathered in the square, lit the territorial lamp with the torch of I European Games lit in the "Ateshgah" temple. Then the light was passed to the Gabala student Bahram Ahmadli for the storage in Heydar Aliyev Centre until the end of I European Games.
Thus, the official part of the torch light procession ended. Within the artistic part first was shown a video on torch, lit in the "Ateshgah" temple on April 28 by the head of state Ilham Aliyev to launch the I European Games; then the audience was presented an interesting, colorful composition performances by local folk groups. The festival ended with fireworks, Gabala highlighted in light torches and firecrackers thrown.
Festive celebration - sport festival at a high level, organized in Gabala in connection with the European Games, has become a story that for a long time will not be erased from memory.
