Remembrance Day was celebrated on September 27 in Gabala
On September 27, 2021, a Remembrance Day event was held in the Alley of Martyrs of Gabala region. At the event, attended by the heads of the region’s executive power, law enforcement agencies, departments, enterprises and organizations, families of martyrs of the Great Patriotic War, war participants, veterans and representatives of the region community, the National Anthem was played, first, and the memory of the martyrs was commemorated with a minute of silence. Speaking at the event, head of the region’s executive power Sabuhi Abdullayev said that the Strategy of Army Building, founded by great leader Heydar Aliyev, is being successfully continued today by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, spoke about the resolute struggle and victory of the army-people’s unity, united as an iron fist with a call from him, and prayed for the souls of the martyrs, wished their families patience and the veterans good health. Speaking on behalf of the parents of the martyrs, Abulfaz Abdurahmanov and veteran Habib Bayramov spoke about the heroism of our martyrs and veterans in the Great Patriotic War and thanked the President of Azerbaijan, Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev and First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva for the attention and care shown to them. At the end, surahs from the Holy Quran were recited to the souls of the martyrs and the event participants visited the complex erected in memory of the martyrs of the First Karabakh and Patriotic Wars and laid flowers at the graves and in front of the memorial plaques. Later, 500 ash and elm trees were planted in the allocated area in memory of the martyrs of the Great Patriotic War.
