The liberation of Kalbajar is re-approval of glorious historical Victory of Azerbaijan.

A Trilateral Statement signed by the Presidents of Azerbaijan, Russia and the Prime Minister of Armenia on November 10 is an important historical event for our country. A 30-year Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict was hereby ended. A Trilateral Statement was the last word on the conflict resolution. According to a joint Statement, the Armenian armed forces must leave the territories of Kalbajar, Lachin and Agdam districts unconditionally. This Statement having historic significance constitutes Armenia’s capitulation, but also Azerbaijan’s glorious Victory. Klabajar was liberated like Aghdam without shedding blood and being martyred thanks to the determination of Victorious Commander-in-Chief President Ilham Aliyev and his diplomatic skill turning military victory to the political one. The Azerbaijani army has entered the Kalbajar region where too harsh terrain and extreme climate is, without being martyred and firing a single bullet. In the next step, the territory will be demined; safety measures will be carried out. Upon completing all works, relevant bodies will implement proper infrastructure measures based on the task set by President Ilham Aliyev. “The Popular Front of Azerbaijan who came to power illegally and did not have any political knowledge and skills was directly responsible for the occupation of the Kalbajar district and the main culprit in the occupation of our lands” as addressed by the Victorious Commander-in-Chief President Ilham Aliyev to the nation on the liberation of Kalbajar. The purpose of Popular Front was just struggle for power. Armenia continued to take advantage of that to occupy our lands. After the occupation of Shusha and Lachin, the situation reached a critical level in our country. Taking advantage of that, the Popular Front of Azerbaijan came to power due to a coup. They focused all their efforts on strengthening their grip on power, organizing persecutions in our country, applying censorship and taking other anti-democratic steps. The occupation of Kalbajar was the outcome of such sordid actions. Today Armenians leaving Kalbajar have settled there illegally after the occupation of district in 1993. Invader Armenia has begun to settle Armenians actively in Kalbajar since 1999 contrary to the principles of the UN and the OSCE. Armenians leaving the territories where they live illegally – Azerbaijani lands have taken all their items safely without exposing to fire. The Azerbaijani Army has created all conditions for them to leave. However, Kalbajar has become a visual example of Armenian vandalism in XXI century. While leaving, Armenians have fired homes, committed vandalism and ecological disaster by flaming up forests and soiling water. Today despite of Armenians leaving the territory safely and at their option, Azerbaijani population of the district were forcibly expelled in 1993; they escaped from Armenian aggressors barefoot through mountain roads on foot. Most of them were subject to slaughter; fired; even their dead bodies were insulted. As a result, more than 500 innocent people were killed; hundreds of people were taken hostage or missed in Kalbajar. Azerbaijani people could not take anything; all properties of residents were looted by the Armenian army. What happened today is also important to realize the difference between Azerbaijan and Armenia. This victory is the victory of policy of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and his worthy successor Ilham Aliyev; victory of unity of people and power, victory of our glorious Army. This is the result of our achievements both on diplomacy and troop building. Victorious Azerbaijani Army wrote a historic chronicle with golden letters in the 44-day Patriotic War. Long live our brave Army! Long live our Victorious Commander-in-Chief! This Victory was written and sealed in our history with golden letters and signature.
