The Centre for Coordination of Azerbaijani Volunteers (CCAV), established on March 27, 2020 by the country's volunteer organizations and movements, in connection with the appeals of the Head of State Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva to provide support for activities conducted by the state to fight the threat of a new type of coronavirus infection, is functioning successfully. In a short time, this center has mobilized volunteers in almost all cities and regions of the country, coordinated them and directed to the necessary activities. As part of the actions conducted by the center, volunteers had visited lonely elderly people and low-income families, shown assistance in providing them with necessary supplies, and made an active contribution to elimination of the threat of anemia due to coronavirus infection created for the people who need urgent blood transfusions. Volunteers participating in the campaign under the slogan "Protect the elders" visited hundreds of single people, the elderly, low-income families, families of martyrs, people with disabilities, and helped in delivering packages of food and essential goods to them. As a continuation of the social projects successfully implemented by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in the country, the volunteers took an active part in delivering 716 food packages sent by the Foundation to the Gabala Region for children with disabilities under the age of 18. At the same time, within the "Volunteer-neighbor" campaign launched on April 8, volunteers distributed contact numbers through special ads at the entrances to courtyards and buildings in the region, asking for information about people in need. Based on the received calls, the volunteers provided assistance to citizens at their own expense in obtaining food, medicines and making utility payments. Our volunteers participated with great enthusiasm in educational work among the population on the pandemic, in distribution of medical masks to people being on the street without masks. The Gabala youth, in particular the volunteers, in fact responding to the appeals of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva, once again showed their loyalty to the state and statehood in relation to the position regarding the quarantine declared during the pandemic.
