32 teams competed for the multiathlon championship in the region.
The competition for the multiathlon championship among draftees and pre-draftees under the motto “I am ready to defend the Motherland!” in Gabala ended. The competition with thirty-two teams ended with the victory of the team of a full secondary school in the village of Mirzabayli. The teams of the full secondary school of Amirvan village and the full secondary school No. 3 of the city of Gabala took second and third places respectively. These competitions, jointly organized by the Ministries of Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Education and traditionally held annually, are aimed at strengthening the military preparedness of youth and increasing their sense of patriotism. The head of the district department of youth and sports, Fakhri Soltanov, speaking at the opening ceremony, spoke about the high state concern for sports in our country and wished success to the teams. The participants tested their strengths in the 100 meter running competitions, pulling up on the turnstile and grenade throwing on the sports ground of the full secondary school No. 3 of the city of Gabala. The team of the full secondary school of Mirzabeyli village, which won first place, at the same time received the right to participate in the zonal stage of the republican championship. The winning teams were awarded with diplomas.
