The preservation and study of cultural heritage is an important issue.

At the initiative of the State Service for the Protection, Development and Restoration of Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, an event dedicated to “Days of European Heritage” took place in the Gabala State Historical and Artistic Reserve with organizational support of the Gabala Region Executive Power. The event was opened by the director of the reserve Bahruz Sharifov, who informed about the objectives of the event. Ataya Osmanova, Deputy Head of the Gabala Region Executive Power, Head of the Department for Social, Political and Humanitarian Issues, in her speech noted that after independence, our country pays special attention to the protection of cultural heritage. The great leader Heydar Aliyev attached great importance to the preservation, restoration and promotion of historical and cultural monuments. The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, successfully continues the work begun by the great leader in this field. In her speech, the head of the Region Education Department Arifa Bayramova spoke about the importance of deeper education for students in the historical and cultural heritage, the measures taken for this in educational institutions. The event continued with an art program. The performances of "Musham uchluyu" of the Gabala Cultural Center, the "Tabassum" dance group of the Gabala Center for the Development of Children and Youth, the “Zopu-zopu” ethnographic folk dance ensemble of the Region Culture Center, the pupils of the kindergarten of Mirzabeyli village and kindergarten No. 1 of Gabala city were greeted with applauses. An exhibition consisting of works of art, handmade of local artisans and books included in the State Art Fund of the Gabala Region was demonstrated at the event.
