The seminar began its work on Community-Based Early Warning Systems in Flood.

Today at the conference hall of "Qafqaz Sport Hotel" in Gabala the two-day seminar began its work for local partners on strengthening the community-based early warning systems in flood.
Seminar held within the project of "Enabling the risks associated with climate change, water and flood management by the small mountain communities of the Greater Caucasus", together with local partners, gathered many participants, including the working structure of the project, national and international experts and representatives of small mountain communities.
During the event, Project Manager for the UN Development Program Mazahir Efendiyev declaring opening of the seminar, briefed the participants on the project objectives and expected key results. Participants then had a group discussion on knowledge, monitoring and warning, communications, data transmission and the ability to give a response to the risks, which are components of an early warning system to enhance the ability of early warning system in flood.
The seminar was also attended by the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, Ministry of Agriculture, the State Agency for Water Resources of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Amelioration and Water Management OJSC, Azersu OJSC, representatives of the State Land and Cartography Committee, as well as several local and foreign experts
