Azerbaijan national songs, mughams and tasnifs sounded at the Gabala Festival.

The program of the XI Gabala International Music Festival is rich and diverse. As at previous festivals, this year the audience eagerly awaited the performance of mugham performers. On the fourth day of the festival, on August 3, a concert of the Naz-Nazi Mugham Group was presented to the audience at the Culture Center in the evening at 21:00. At the beginning of the concert, it was informed that the Naz-Nazi Mugham Group was created in 2010 under the leadership of the famous tarist, the head of the department of the Azerbaijan National Conservatory, Honoured Art Worker Malik Mansurov. The members of the group are teachers and students of the National Conservatory. Naz-Nazi Mugham group is a participant in international events held in Azerbaijan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkey and other countries, as well as the winner of prestigious international competitions. The mugham group performs both in instrumental and in vocal departments. The group’s repertoire includes Azerbaijani mughams and folk songs, as well as mugham compositions by Malik Mansurov. The audience greeted with a standing ovation the compositions Shur, Chahargah performed by tarist Nurlan Jabizade, the segah Mirza Huseyn performed by Parviz Gasimov and Gulnar Gudratli, the mugam Shakhnaz, the tasnifs Mahur and Karabakh Shikastasi performed at the concert of the instrumental group. Talented young mugham performers were accompanied by Malik Mansurov on the tar, Behrad Bonyadi on the bass tar, Sevinj Mirzali on the kamancha, Bayram Uzeyirov on the ud, Aynur Isgandarova on the canun, Ramin Abdullayev on the drums, Shamsaddin Zarbaliyev on the bass drums. According to the festival program, on August 4 a chamber concert will be held at the Heydar Aliyev Congress Centre, and in the evening at 21:00, the Kiev Virtuosi Symphony Orchestra will perform.
