A delegation from Belarus visited the Gabala region.

In accordance with the agreement “On the establishment of interregional relations” signed between the Gabala Region Executive Power and the administration of the Grodno city of the Republic of Belarus, on February 8 a delegation led by the mayor of the city of Grodno Mieczyslaw Goy visited the Gabala region. Guests were met by the head of the Gabala Region Executive Power, Sabuhi Abdullayev. During the meeting, Sabuhi Abdullayev acquainted the representatives of Belarus with the history, modernity, economy, social and cultural life of the region. He informed the Belarusian guests that the ancient Gabala, which had been the capital of Caucasian Albania for 900 years, is the brightest page in the history of Azerbaijan. The head of REP, who informed the delegation about the situation in the region today, noted that Gabala is not only an attractive tourist region, but also occupies an important place in the public life of our country as an international cultural center. The head of REP, referring to the importance of the relations established between Gabala and Grodno, said that the continuation of this cooperation will yield successful results. Sabuhi Abdullayev, who told that during the past period a lot of work was done in the development of mutual relations, and positive results were achieved with regard to increasing the economic potential of the two countries, noted that as a result of the joint efforts of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, progressive traditions in the direction of strengthening bilateral relations between our countries appeared and these traditions are even more entrenched. Grodno Mayor Mieczyslaw Goy, in turn, expressed satisfaction with the visit of his delegation to Gabala. He highly appreciated the bilateral relations existing between Grodno and Gabala. Speaking about the continuation of mutual cooperation in the field of culture and tourism, Mieczyslaw Goy noted that this will provide a path for the development of tourism and economic cooperation between Grodno and Gabala. During the trip, the guests from Belarus got acquainted with several historical and cultural monuments, industrial enterprises, tourist and sports complexes. The delegation left Gabala with pleasant impressions.
