The events are held on the occasion of the Day of National Mourning - January 20th.
A large-scale action plan was prepared in the region education department in connection with the Day of National Mourning - January 20th. In accordance with the action plan, an open lesson on the tragedy of January 20th was held in the complete secondary school No. 1 of Gabala city. In an open lesson conducted by history teacher Elmira Asadova, students were provided with detailed information on the causes of the January 20th massacre, the consequences and traces left by this bloody incident in our history. During the lesson, which took place mainly in the form of a dialogue, it became clear that students have extensive knowledge of this bloody, but also heroic page of our history. The events of January 20th marked the beginning of a new, more active page in the struggle for the independence of our people. After an open lesson, an event entitled “Our Blood Memory” was held, dedicated to the tragedy of January 20th, with the participation of school teachers, pupils and employees of the education department. Deputy school director, history teacher Nurdana Muzaffarova made a presentation on the tragedy of January 20th. The speaker provided the audience with detailed information with many facts about the massacre committed by the Soviet empire and its consequences. Then, the students performed a composition dedicated to the tragedy of January 20th. In conclusion, the participants of the event looked at the exhibition of the regional children's creative center, dedicated to January 20th. The events were attended by the Head of the Region Education Department Arifa Bayramova.
