The concert of Cuban “Jóvenes Clásicos Del Son” band aroused strong interest within Gabala festival.
The Concert program of Cuban “Jóvenes Clásicos Del Son” band was presented to the audience on the open stage set in front of Heydar Aliyev Congress Centre in the evening on August 1, the third day of the X Gabala International Music Festival going on successfully. Before the concert, information was given about “Jóvenes Clásicos Del Son” band. It was noted that the band was formed in 1904. The band is in traditional septet instrumental form. The band that consists of acoustic bass, tres, guitar, trumpet, kongo, bongo and vocalists, is introduced as new power of Cuban music. Cuban soloists connected rich salsa, son cubano and other Latin rhythms eclectically by using traditional and modern world music. They added modern touch without breaking with traditional music. The band carries on tradition of “Buena Vista Social Club” by being known as one of the pioneers of Cuban music. The band leader is Ernesto Reyes Proenza. They are known as “The great seven” in Cuba, as well. The music band offers new approach to traditional music by combining elements of son cubano, rumba, Latin jazz and other music genres to create original sounding. The band that differs with its power of interpretation, can make thousands of people dance in well-known jazz festivals. The great performance of “Jóvenes Clásicos Del Son” band that managed to create unique and original soundings at the concert, caused enjoyable moments in the participants of the festival.
